What to Expect from the 2019 Toyota RAV4
After 25 years of consistent performance, the Toyota RAV4 is ready for a new model year. But, this year, it comes with an élan. It has looks of an SUV but handling of a hatchback. For the model year 2019, the company has used a new platform that increases rigidity and improves the overall performance in comparison to the previous version. The SUV will be 5mm shorter with a 30mm longer wheelbase. Apart from these, there are many other interesting features that you can expect from the 2019 Toyota RAV4. Here, they are:
Smarter looks have been added to this stunner for the new launch. It comes with chiseled cuts and creases that enhance its muscular style. In the variants above the SLE trim level, projector type LED headlights are added along with a faux skid plate. The side profile of this SUV is completely revamped from what it was in the previous generations. Wheel arches are improved with plastic black cladding and entry-level versions come with 17-inch alloy wheels.
The pleasant cabin of this legendary SUV is welcoming and notches up from the previous versions. It is plush in every aspect. From the steering wheel to instrument panel, the entire interior has been designed and shaped differently. In this new version, A/C vents have become rectangular in shape. Apple CarPlay™ has been added and if you opt for the Entune™ 3.0 Audio Plus package, it will come with an eight-inch screen and SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. There is a waterfall console for housing bigger knobs and an additional gear lever. The cargo space has been increased by 79 liters to make this SUV more practical for buyers.
If you go for the RAV4 Hybrid, you’ll get two choices of powertrains: the 2.5L and 2.0L. The 2.0L unit comes with a manual transmission and the 2.5L unit has different figures for power output. In the 2.5L version, there is a four-cylinder gasoline engine delivering up to 222 horsepower to run this workhorse. An eight-speed automatic transmission is installed in this variant. For better handling and support, Toyota has managed a weight ratio of 51:49 in the 2019 RAV4. Although more features are still not revealed by the company, it is expected they are far stronger than the previous 2018 models.
Not much has been changed on this front. You can expect the latest and standard safety features used by Toyota in all its high-end automobiles. They come with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 that includes features like automatic high beam control, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane tracing assist and automatic emergency braking. Optional safety features include blind spot monitoring and cross traffic alert system.
The company has not yet revealed the official pricing of the 2019 Toyota RAV4. However, experts believe that it will be in the same ballpark as the previous generation. You can expect a price of $27,000 for the base model and $34,000 for the top levels.
