For best results clean the windows on an overcast day or park your car in shaded location while cleaning the windows.

What You Will Need?

Besides good quality microfiber rags, you will need a few cleaning supplies. Here is the list.

  • Auto-specific glass cleaner
  • White vinegar
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Distilled water
  • Spray bottle

The Cleaning Solution Recipe

Make a mixture of 50 percent distilled water, 50 percent alcohol and a capful of white vinegar. Alternatively, you can use 70 percent distilled water, 15 percent alcohol and 15 percent glass cleaner. Pour the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake it lightly to mix the ingredients.

Windows: the Inside and Outside

You should remember windows have two sides and each side has some problems. The exterior side of the window stands exposed to weather and dirt on the road and in the air. The exterior side is dirtier and you need some tough cleaning to make it sparkling clean.

On the other hand, the interior side is more protected from contaminants outside. Interior parts like plastic, vinyl, and rubber cause build-up on the windows. Also, a thin transparent film is applied on the interior side of the window. Hence, you need to be careful when cleaning interior side of windows and avoid using cleaners with strong chemicals that may cause window tinting.
